Sinister 7 Ultra may be the greatest challenge of your life. Sinister Sports hosts the 100-mile (161km), 50-mile (80 km), and 50-km courses which will take you through the most rugged, remote, and beautiful terrain in Alberta’s stunning Rocky Mountains. The race's name is inspired by the treacherous Seven Sisters Mountain that looms over much of the course. With 6,400m of elevation gain across the 100-mile course, this race will punish those who are not prepared. The 100-mile is open to soloist and teams of 2 to 7 who have 30 hours to complete the grueling event. The course is split into seven stages ranging from 16.7 km to 36.2 km. Each leg features a geographic and historic highlight of the area. The race’s name is inspired by the treacherous Seven Sisters Mountain that looms over much of the course. The 50-mile consists of 2420m of elevation gain and covers four stages (half of leg 4 and legs 5 through 7 of the 100-mile course) ranging from 10.7km to 36.2 km. It is a great option for those wanting an epic soloist experience at a shorter distance. Racers have 24 hours to complete. The 50-km has 2255m of elevation and is split into three stages (parts of legs 1 & 2 and all of leg 3 from the full course) ranging from 16.7km to 19.3 km. This is a great option for those aspiring to enter the world of ultra running, or who wants to race a little faster through nature. Racers have 13.5 hours to complete. The Kids’ Race is ~4km in length. This is a great way for kids and families to get involved while they’re waiting to cheer on their friends and families running in larger distances. The Start/Finish is at the TA2/3 location where the majority of the longer-distance runners will be. Sinister 7 is a UTMB Qualifier, a Trail Sisters Approved race, and is part of the Alberta Ultra Series. It's part of the Sinister Triple and Four Horsemen series put on by Sinister Sports. Sinister 7 is one of 5 races organized by Sinister Sports. You can check out their other races - Canadian Death Race, Black Spur Ultra, The Divide 200, and Castle Alpine Trail Race - on their website.
