Castle Provincial Park

Provincial Parks & Recreation Areas

Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park boast stunning mountain landscapes, rolling hills, meadows and montane forests over 105,000 hectares (260,000 acres). The parks are home to more than 200 rare species of plants and animals. Keep an eye out for whitebark and limber pine, Jones’ columbine and dwarf alpine poppy. The parks also protect important wildlife corridors used by grizzly bears and wolverines. The westslope cutthroat trout and harlequin duck are also found here. Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park offer plenty of recreation opportunities for two-legged visitors. Hikers and mountain bikers will find an extensive trail network. Paddlers flock to the area’s lakes and streams. The fishing is good year-round, and winter brings great cross-country skiing. Campgrounds in the area offer everything from basic tenting sites to comfort camping.
