Island Campground
Campgrounds & RV Parks
Island Lake Campground, located just west of Coleman in southern Alberta, is a quiet, no-frills spot ideal for a short lakeside stay. Open early May to mid-October, it offers around 40 unserviced, first-come, first-served sites for tents and RVs, with some pull-through options. The lake is perfect for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, windsurfing, and boating (with a small launch nearby). Amenities include firepits, a picnic shelter, vault toilets, and non-potable pump water—so bring your own. Firewood is sometimes available on-site. While the area is scenic and serene, expect some road and train noise near the shoreline. Trails around the lake are informal but accessible, and OHV use is allowed in designated areas nearby. With open terrain, minimal privacy, and big skies, this is a peaceful, budget-friendly stop for outdoor enthusiasts passing through the Crowsnest Pass.
