Hello fellow adventurers! As the summer heat fades, and the crisp, cool air of autumn rolls on in, there’s no better time to explore the hidden gem that is Crowsnest Pass. The Pass transforms into a breathtaking tapestry of vibrant fall colours – the perfect blend of natural beauty, exploring, and cozy vibes.

In case you didn’t already know, the local communities within The Pass are brimming with small-town charm. Don’t forget to stroll through the streets, visit some shops and support local, and enjoy the cafes and restaurants.

A Symphony of Colours

With hues of red, orange, and gold, the forest paints a picturesque backdrop for all your adventures. As the heat of summer subsides and cooler temperatures arrive, there is no better time to lace up your hiking boots or hop on your bike and hit the trails before the first snowfall. Crowsnest Ridge via Phillips Pass Road offers stunning views of Island Lake and Crowsnest Lake, while the Chinook Lake Loop is a quick 5km nature walk perfect for families. Plus, there are ample trails for wheel-inclined explorers.

If you’re a fishing enthusiast, the local rivers and lakes will be your go-to (and if you’re lucky, rewarding!). For the more adventurous souls, rock climbing is another way to explore the rugged beauty of the Rockies.

Spooky Season

For those who like to get into the spirit of the fall season, certain locations in The Pass have had so many ghost sightings and eerie reports that paranormal investigators have been known to frequent these areas. Start your spooky adventure at the Lost Lemon Campground & Cabins, where the ghost of a prospector is said to roam, setting the stage for an eerie atmosphere with strange noises and ghostly apparitions. Next, visit the site of the devastating 1903 rockslide at Frank Slide. This historical landmark is not only significant for its past but also for the whispers and ghostly figures reported among the boulders. Finally, take a hike along the Lille Ghost Town Trail, where the abandoned town of Lille is said to be haunted by the spirits of its former residents.
