While we wait (not so) patiently for the winter season to officially kick off, it doesn’t hurt to get ahead of the packing and line up some of our favorite activities at Crowsnest Pass.
At
the heart of the Pass is the beautiful Pass Powderkeg (PKK), famously known as
one of Alberta’s most popular, family-friendly ski resorts. It is also a
friendlier choice for the wallet with affordable rates so that everyone can
join in the fun.
Whether
you’re a hard-core ski and snowboard enthusiast, or someone looking to enjoy a
touch of winter wonderland, there is something for all interests and ages at PKK.
Here
is a list of all the things we’re looking forward to – spotted anything you
like?
1. Trails for all levels
With 1,000 ft of vertical
over 27 trails, PKK is definitely your go-to choice for a day out in the snowy
mountains. Ideal for the family, trails run from beginner-intermediate, with
free access to our Beginner lift and Discover area, to more advanced on the
upper mountain. There are lessons available for all levels, and even a Terrain
Park for those of you feeling like trying out a new trick or two.
2. Skiing under the stars
The fun at PKK doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Enjoy an entirely different experience on the trails when the night lights come on by making the most of PKK’s night skiing runs, which are among the longest in the country.
3. Events all winter-long
Open to members and
non-members alike, PKK offers a ton of events through the season. Join the
Tuesday Night Uphill Series for a chance to participate in our exciting
scavenger hunts, or opt for a Wintervention classic, the Human Dog Sled Races,
later in the season.
4. Made for the 'gram
Nestled in the heart of the
Pass, PKK brings you breathtaking views of the neighbourhood while being
surrounded by nature’s wonders. Don’t forget to bring your camera along as you
explore and tag us at #explorethepass #PASSPOWDERKEG.
