A Year in Review

December 6, 2022

In the Pass, December is all about staying cozy, hitting the snowy trails and celebrating with friends and loved ones.

It’s also a great time to take stock and reflect on a year that is soon to wrap. And just like a Spotify year in review, we’ve compiled a list of the top things we loved exploring in 2022.

Connecting people to the outdoors

This one seems like a no brainer. The Crowsnest Pass is home to beautiful mountain ranges and offers endless ways to experience the outdoors. But it’s our community that truly helps us to connect to nature. This past year we had a chance to meet the awesome crew at Uplift Adventures and they left a lasting impact. We were so impressed with their knowledge of the land and nature that surrounds us here in the Pass. Their mission is to host memorable outdoor adventures and build the confidence in you to inspire new adventure. You can read the full interview and learn about their guided adventures here. Maybe 2023 is the year you start crossing off a list of all our suggested hikes!

Unique cultural experiences

Who knew a collective of five towns nestled in the mountains could have such a vibrant pulse on culture? The Pass is also a place that sees beauty beyond nature. The Crowsnest Pass Art Gallery features local artists and other Canadian artists through their monthly rotational program. Additionally, they host feature events throughout the year.

This past September, the Pass was host to Alberta Culture Days, celebrating the unique and diverse history of Alberta. Indigenous representation was a large part of this years’ event, an opportunity to learn and understand Indigenous culture and its role in Alberta. Follow us on Instagram to stay up to date on the latest events happening in the Pass.

Other notable events in 2022

  • Doors Open and Heritage Festival, this year's theme was Music, Moonshine & Mayhem
  • Blairmore was host to the FreshAirCinema, a chance to watch a movie in the park
  • Hook or Crook, and the Sinister Series
  • Norco Canadian Enduro Series

Our Growing Community

There is nothing greater than our incredible community. Like our friends at CrowSnow Riders, they can be found maintaining the trails and planning group rides for all ages. Or our pals at PPK, did you know they’ve got upgraded runs this year?! To all the folks who work in the service industry keeping us nourished and refreshed, especially at The Pass Beer Co. (we see you!). There is no better place to be than in a community that offers an endless number of things to do and is surrounded by friendly faces.

Cheers to the Pass! We can’t wait for new adventures in 2023.
